So many girls at the tryout I think over 70+ wonder if she gonna get an offer from any team, the lower team is worth it? Or should I just go back to rec and tryouts for another year?

70+ girls! That is a huge pool of players, How many teams do they have for that age?

Is this for rising U11? I heard there were twice that many boys at Loudoun tryouts for that age group. Other tryouts we’ve been to have had 120 boys show up. A tryout with “only” 70 would be jice.

My son is 2013. There were 150 boys there for tryouts 😩

150! No chance for kids from outside LS to make it to the top team?
Pretty much nope unless they ID your kid from season games.

DS comes from another club outside Loudoun never had an ID session, got an offer on the top team, Anything possible!

Things that never happened for 500 😂

BS! I know several players on both my son and daughter's teams that had outside players accept top team (A and B) spots! It happens all the time. LS needs the talent since they can't develop it themselves outside of the U-little Academy.

Not that don't ID ahead of time. ROFL picking up multiple random kids they've not seen already during tryouts? What horrible fanfiction lol definitely things that didn't happen for 500

Not total BS. LS will pickup kids if they are coming from another clubs top 1 or 2 teams.

Not if they haven't ID'd. How dense are you?

LS only cares about bringing in more money. They don't have to hold a session if they don't want.

Anonymous wrote:Unless you have already been in contact with coaches from the top teams, attended their practices, or have a serious in, it will be very difficult to break onto those teams at Loudoun. They mostly already know who they will be taking and unless your kid is freakishly big and athletic it’s hard to stand out in what will be a lot of kids.

But don’t get discouraged. Your son is young and the most important things now are finding a good coach, getting playing time, developing on his own, and enjoying the game. Things will start to shake out in U13-15 as boys hit puberty. Most of the top team kids at U10 will not still be on the top team at U15 for a variety of reasons.

Loudoun sucks.

Post 07/24/2024 12:27     Subject: Re:Loudoun Tryouts

Quick reference and explanation... after 4 travel tryouts at Loudoun....

U11 - Received call the next day at lunch time (was a definite yes for that team, not a maybe for a higher and not a no)
U12 - Received call almost a week later, was on a short list to move up but the spots ended up not opening up so stayed
U13 - Received a call the next day at 10pm, was a definite yes for the higher team
U14 - Received a call the next morning, a definite yes for the same team

For U12 definitely on a possible list to move up if spots open and that was why the call took so long to happen.

Hope this helps!

His 10 year old is 6’2 and has a full beard.

Definitely came up from Interpol Miami with beating Messi jr as bragging rights as well.

If she is really a rising u8 and not u9, there is no u8 travel team as they officially start at u9. There is the u8 academy, which is a precursor to travel and serves as a transition from Rec to Travel. And LS has historically taken the top u8 Academy kids and fielded A single travel team that plays in a lower u9 division (my kids did this in the past. However, historically that has primarily been in the Spring only, after a Fall in the Academy, but it appears they may have changed to a full year approach for the Academy team (see website: https://www.loudounsoccer.com/Default.aspx?tabid=2741071 )

In looking at that website, they have a POC for all Academy related questions at the bottom of the page which seems like a good starting point - especially since no girls coach is listed.

Most teams are likely full. Id send a note to the appropriate age group director listed on the website and explain your situation. They may or may not be able to accommodate an evaluation but they certainly will not be able to go out of their way to slot her with her friends.

This is the correct advice.

As for where they practice - it’s TBD. Could be at Loudoun Soccer park or it could be any of a number of other fields. Hanson Park and Bolen Park, are the more commonly used locations beyond the Soccer Park, but Loudoun is a large club with access to a lot of fields across the county. That being said they normally try to keep it somewhat centralized to limit the extreme commute to practice.

If you get an offer at this point it'll be from bottom team trying to backfill academy spots kids dropped from. Don't take it personally if you don't make a u-9 team. There are only 2-3 open spots out of 4 or 5 teams on the girl's side.

Yeah it seemed like teams were formed already. Tough to crack
