Um, the girls program is nothing to write home about either. But, it lets parents tell their friends their soccer star child plays travel soccer for McLean. I guess there's that.

The discrepancy from the norm is not how bad gold is for a 3rd team in the DMV but rather how good white is for a 2nd team in the area. My educated guess is that white is better than you’d typically expect in part because the 1st team (green) is extremely good and so kids who might normally make that team are instead playing on the 2nd team and in part because the white team left en masse a couple years ago due to a parent revolt led by a crazy dad and that probably cleared out a lot of dead wood that might otherwise still be playing on the 2nd team because clubs have a hard time demoting 2nd team players. My two cents; take them for what they’re worth.

Can anyone explain the significant discrepancy between the record of the green and white 2013 girls teams with that of the gold team? Looks like the latter is playing in one of the lowest divisions and still not doing well?

I also heard they had a multimillion dollar contract with Nike.

If you haven't received an offer yet, speak with the coach. Most likely you won't get one. I know several kids who tried out this past week and they all got offers by Friday morning.
