Why wasn’t the judgement enforced? How did he get away with not paying the Goldmans?

I remember hearing that his NFL pension was not subject to the judgment. But what he has left of that money, if he saved any, should be now. His kids don’t get a pension from the NFL so it’s now treated differently.

I hope if they get their settlement money, that it in someway makes them feel better. I don't see how it will though.

+ 1 It’s not that the TRIAL was overly consuming, it’s the fact that It was all there was on. I would say today’s big trials are worse, because coverage is everywhere and it’s harder to turn it off and hide from it.

In 1995 You could just turn the cable TV chann or leave your house. Today, when a trial is covered that much its harder to look at your calendar, check your email , get the news, etc. without being online and connected.

+1 I’m listening to Dan Abrams right now - he was one of the few reporters who was in the courtroom every single day for both the criminal and civil trials. He just said that no one who saw all of the evidence and watched the whole trial was surprised by the verdict. Maybe by the speed of it but not the actual verdict.

I met a criminal defense lawyer who said that he wasn't surprised by the verdict. Off course, if you watched the news and the daytime TV shows then OJ was as guilty as hell. But if you followed just the evidence, and what could be used and not used in a court of law, then no, it shouldn't have been such a surprised to see OJ walk free.
