By themselves? OP is right, solo walker is rare. It's either solo walkers with a dog, husband and wife couples, or two friends out walking. That said, literally nobody cares or pays attention or thinks it's weird to be out walking alone.

Really? Because there are plenty of solo walkers, men and women, in our neighborhood. I never knew this was considered "creepy."

I often go for lunchtime walks by myself around my neighborhood when I work from home. I usually walk leisurely while listening to a podcast.

I’ve posted my complaints here about FH refusing to walk with me.

I’m just a typical suburban dcumer because I drive to parks and take long (3 mile) walks alone 4-5 times a week. We don’t have a dog.

So I am walking alone.

Men can walk alone if they’re obvious retired pensioners. But a working prime man walking around solo is sketchy. I’d assume a woman always walking alone was a widow or spinster.

If you find yourself walking alone I’d recommend getting a puppy ASAP. They are a joy.

Ridiculous assertion. Went for a walk last night with a friend (no dog) and saw an even mixture of walkers with dogs, walkers without dogs, runners (mostly without dogs) and bikers (without dogs).

NP. Yes plenty of people walk by themselves in my neighborhood. Myself included. I wouldn’t want to live in a neighborhood where I didn’t feel safe walking by myself in broad daylight.
A grown man alone on a walk is creepy.

He needs to bring his wife or dog
Trust me, it's more creepy if I bring his wife.

Some people are afraid of their shadow.

What am I going to do? Go for a walk and leave my dog home? That's rude!
