Maybe you should stay home and let them figure it out...

We did I think 3 trips out west to different places; 2-3 weeks long (Grand Canyon, RMNP, San Fran, Seattle, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona) and then went to Florida once including disney and two trips to Niagara falls. We also went to the beach and to the Adirondacks. We did 1 big trip to the UK & Ireland when I was in high school.
One thing that stuck with me is that my dad shared that each of our plane tickets DC-San Francisco (summer 1993) cost $400 pp, which is like $860 pp today!
Some prices I've paid pp for flights over the past 2 years: $350 pp London, $380 pp Madrid, $440 Frankfurt/out Paris, $400 Lisbon, $450 Copenhagen, $160 Denver.
It's also super easy for me to find affordable lodging in many places, but particularly in Europe. I've spent as low as $550 a week for nice lodging in Europe.
My family is middle class and we do travel quite a bit but it's only possible with the internet and social media. I am able to tap into reward points, budget airlines/flights, cheap lodging, tips, ideas, ect.....It would never be possible without all that.
I want more details on how you scored those airfares and lodging prices in the last two years.
