GWU is very well known internationally. It is ranked in the top 10 of international affairs programs as well. Great choice.

Someone that VT was Vermont instead of Virginia Tech. Note to the PP that when people refer to Vermont on here they usually say UVM or VMT

Also a GW grad and our DC chose from among the same schools. Chose VT for their National Security and Foreign Affairs major and is double majoring in a critical language. Fantastic experience. Other majors there in the Department of Political Science:

It’s like a 60%+ acceptance rate for that major @ VT. Jobs are especially scarce right now and the credentialism is still off the charts when it comes to hiring. Gtown students would get a look first and VT would be far down the list. Unless, of course, you have a connection, right?
Better have ILR scores to prove your language capabilities too.

I have another question which is broader, maybe too broad for this thread, and probably common. How does one weigh the strength of a niche program (Elliott in this case) against attending a school with more overall prestige that is non-specific, that does not have the huge breadth of programming in the subject?
