Color guard, marching band, girls volleyball, field hockey or boys or girls swim teams. But I believe these should exist even though I don’t knew anyone personally one those teams. Surely you have heard of boys volleyball, even if you don’t know a player? Ok then. Sports can exist at a high school level even when you don’t personally know someone who plays.

Um, its a whole extra team needing practice and game space when the gym space is maxed out. What's surprising?
How is it maxed out in the fall with just girls volleyball, but not maxed out in the winter with both girls basketball and boys basketball?
Because basketball still has activities in the fall.
Guess basketball will have to cut back a bit.

Yeah, but for every other season/sport the in season teams have priority over the out of season teams.
All the spring sports have indoor green days during the winter and basketball gets priority at that point, so it seems like they manage to make it work for every other sport, but *shrug*
