The Dabney. Tried it twice and hated it and left hungry. I'm not a big drinker and this might be related -- servers pushing cocktails hard. Food was comically tiny.

Rasika. Overpriced and bland. You get better stuff for 1/4 price in Curry Alley.

Le Diplomat - it's ok but not special
Rasika - it's ok but not my favorite Indian by a long shot
Cane - its meh, the service sucks, too pricey
Ethiopic - their vegetarian combo was bad twice, and most Ethiopian placces excel at vegetarian
El Presidente - very forgettable food
Indigo but only because their portions are too stingy
St Anselm because they served me a winter squash salad with butternut squash that was CRUNCHY. And then half the sides I tried were way too salty. I gave them two chances so they get no more.

Basically, I don't like anything and am always underwhelmed for the amount I spent.

True Foods. Every single meal I've had there (and I've been at least 3 times) has been way too salty.

Yes! I just ate at Zaytinya a couple weeks ago as a reunion get-together with a friend that moved away from DC 7 years ago and was in town on a work trip. We were both so happy to see the quality is still top notch and the restaurant looks great and our service was excellent during a busy lunch service. Yes, it's sticking with a time-tested model as I think it's been open for 15 years, maybe longer? If I still lived in DC I probably would focus on more exciting and new restaurants, but Zaytinya is still as good as it's ever been.

100% been saying this for YEARS and yet, people still flock to that place.

Disliking FF has been a thing since Seitsema’s 0 star review like 10 years ago; I don’t know anyone who thinks it is good.

This. It’s the restaurant everyone loves to hate.

Over on Reddit they passed around a thread that was something like “recommend a restaurant to someone you don’t like”. FF was the overwhelming winner. So, yeah, the hate is widespread.
