For the people that are saying dances are inappropriate, you are out of your mind. There is nothing wrong with them. Some kids might want to venture out and dance with somebody, and that is totally okay! Don’t tell them they can’t, because there is nothing wrong about growing up. And there are never any drugs at any middle schools I don’t know what you are talking about. Let the kids have fun and enjoy their time as a teen.

they are FUN and memory makers. what's not to like? the dance at my kid's MS this year has been the highlight of the year for her and all her friends. don't send your kid if you're worried about horrible things happening but I assure you, you are delusional.

As a group of girls standing around, sometimes one insists, "common, let's ask the guys to dance." Or a rare guy ventures into the gauntlet of young women to ask his crush to dance.
There might be a few established couples. No inappropriate displays of affection. If the chaperones are doing their job. If anything were to seem extreme, reasonable teens would be disgusted, and distance.

I’ve never done this. I trust my kids until they give me a reason not to trust them. So far they’ve been great kids (17 and 15 now).
