Dh and I force ourselves to be in bed by 11:30 and it’s a struggle. We’d like to stay up until 1am

That's shitty of you.
How so? Other parents can say no. We live on one end of the district so my 16 yo has a few friends who live a good 25m bc they are on the other end. We usually have them stay over if their group has late plans. The close by kids will go home bc they can walk or it’s a quick drive/bus ride. If I didn’t want them to stay I’d tell my daughter no - it’s really not hard for me to say.
However, I’d like if these parents paid for dinner or similar if they never host. The polite ones will send a pizza or have their kid do Uber eats. The food costs are the only bother as we have a big finished basement and I like the kids here anyway as I can keep an eye out and her friends are mostly polite fun friendly kids

Is there any adult awake when your child gets home? I think it's important to be awake enough to engage in a short conversation with your teen as a way to keep an eye on possible drug or alcohol use.
+1
There is an awake adult in my house until everyone is accounted for. Especially once they start driving.
This. And we also don't send our kids in Ubers.
