Overall, the aid calculator estimates for my son, who as in the donut hole, were a lot worse than at Princeton but about the same as at Harvard.

Sure I have. And Baltimore, Detroit, Gary (my personal fave), Oakland, etc.
Astonishingly, people happily attend college in/near all of them.

Wash. U definetly top 5 in terms of quality of life for its students in the T20s. For kid who are interested in medicine, would recommend sending them. Wash. U is a better place to be than Hopkins for sure. Have work at JHH-- it's really not a favorable place to spend your 4 years undergrad studying to be a MD.
