Yes, please! I’m invested now

Yes, I have heard nothing at all! They didn't try to call, text, nothing. I am relieved but also upset I got so anxious about this for nothing.

Are you from India OP? I can't count the number of times my aunt brings over guests who have come to her house, for a meal, to my house so she gets to take a break. I didn't even know them except they were from same home town so I said yes. That was when I was younger and able to do it. These days I am unable to since the expectation is much with the number of foods we are required to cook for guests and just say I have other stuff to do

If you're looking for a good excuse, just say you have covid 2 days before their arrival. I doubt anyone would want to come over then.

the only day left my dad mentioned is Wednesday and I work. I think if they do come I will get takeout, like Chinese in little containers because it will be weird and new to them. But I feel like today would really be the last day to ask me because Wednesday is coming up!

Burgers, fries and some pizza could be easy dinner too.
Don’t be stressed it will go fast.

This is a pretty good idea.

“Two days ago I spent two hours in a car with a friend. A couple of hours after she dropped me off, she tested positive for Covid. I only have a sore throat right now, so it probably fine. But I’m unusually tired too. Maybe it’s best to play it safe? I’s feel terrible if your travels were impacted bc I gave you covid!”

I would just get delivery from a good resto. No way am I cooking.

That's the way we do it in America.

Did you tell them that you needed at least 1 week's notice to host? (As was suggested upthread)? It seems next steps depend on what their understanding of hospitality is vs. yours.

I have never spoken to them. They spoke to my dad and told him dates but he didn’t ask me if the dates worked, just said they are thinking this or that date and didn’t speak to them after telling me this.
