Yes, he was my first post college BF. But my parents didn’t like him because he was “underemployed” and seemed to lack ambition from their POV. He wanted nothing to do with them and he eventually broke up with me and I was devastated. He went on to get his MBA and he’s been incredibly successful 30 years later. I married a nice guy but the marriage didn’t last and I’ve been a single mom ever since living a MC life at best. A few years ago my mother admitted that she had been wrong about him.

I do. I love my husband of 12 years to the ends of the earth. But. I truly feel like the one that got away was my soulmate. My parents disliked him and he was floundering at the same time I was both working a full time job and finishing graduate school. I broke it off with him and immediately regretted it. I still look him up from time to time. He’s married with a kid now. But he’s definitely the one who got away.

Thanks to social media I have a sense for where they are today and what they are doing. And I’m glad I’m not a part of their lives. I don’t know if I’m the one who got away but it would be fun to know.

Yeah spouse is on another level from exes, no contest.

Same. Although looks wise a lot of the exes are better looking. But personality, smarts, partnership DH hands down winner

Two, but both turned out to be huge commitmentphobes and married much much later than I did (in their 40s, v my early 30s). I hope they are both happy. Great guys, just so so scared of committing.

I am very happy with DH so it was all for the best.
