I’m assuming the people rationalizing not showering have never been members at such a perk-filled club.

Maybe. I’m a PP who doesn’t shower at the gym. I don’t want or need to pay $320/month for my gym membership though, so I pay $34/month for my basic gym (actually the low-end brand in the Equinox group) and it works just fine. I like to be in and out.

But I don’t get how all of these people get in their cars, metro or walk home gross and sweaty after a workout? Many presumably go onto work right after. Even if you’re not super sweaty, your clothes and hands are gross from being all over the equipment. Being able to steam or sauna after a work out and shower with fresh towels is my fav part of my fitness routine. I wouldn’t want to work out if I didn’t have that access. Yet all these gyms without towels and showers look packed day and night.
This is so dumb. Most of us are extraordinarily busy. You think we have time to "steam and sauna"? Bring wipes, get your pits and bits, and be done with it. This is such a 1%'er problem.
