Nail polish on women used to be deviant! Particularly any color but pink/nude.
In the early seventies when I was about 6 years old, a classmate had red nail polish and I asked my mom if I could have red nail polish and she got very upset, lol. Only allowed me to wear light pink.
A fellow mother - not older than 40- told me this recently - she was mortified that their young daughter wanted red polish instead of light pink and wide red me to also think it www a shocking idea
I don’t care what color my daughters wear.Anonymous wrote:nail polish on men

My sister lived with her boyfriend/future husband before marriage in the mid 1970s and my parents were so upset. I did the same in 1990 (I'm much younger) and my parents were delighted.
There was so much shame about children born before marriage, born too early or unwed mothers. And now people routinely get married when kids are toddlers or have a child on their own. I know several people like this.
I'm glad all these particular beliefs are gone. People in many ways are kinder and more accepting than they used to be.
Read about the baby scoop era. Very sad.
On the other hand, the decline of the traditional family has clearly had disastrous outcomes for so many kids. I wouldn't celebrate these loosening standards.

I think all of those are for the good! They allow more people to embrace who they are, fully.
Where are you from? Almost all these things are still deviant in US.
