You're kidding, right? In all of my years as a kid, adult and now a parent, I've never seen someone sled in a helmet.
The idea of needing to chaperone a 10-year-old sledding is rather crazy too, but there are a lot of helicopter parents in the DMV.
I really can't tell if that was a serious post...
You're an idiot.

I’m pretty obsessed with safety and I don’t even make my kids wear helmets when sledding. We also don’t wear helmets tubing.
Why did you have kids if you hate them so much?

NP here,
How is 40 minutes enough to walk 0.5 miles at 4 year old pace dragging sleds, sled, and walk back at 4 year old pace?
The kid isn't even 9. "Almost 9"
Oh, I think the idea of sending them is insane. I'm just completely confused by the suggestion that she could have taken the kids on a 40 minute lunch break. Maybe 40 minutes on the hill, but not 40 minutes start to finish.
I realize it's too late, but my solution would have been to bribe the 8 year old to keep younger siblings out of my hair with a promise to take off early and go sledding at like 3.
Anonymous wrote:There’s no way I would send the 4 year old half a mile away to sled with just a 9 year old for supervision. Even trustworthy, smart kids do incredibly stupid things sometimes. How fast could you actually get there if something happened?
