lol I actually *did this* just two years ago and negotiated a 4 month paid maternity leave starting week 2. Try again!


I assume this was at a private sector job, right? With the fed, job applicants can’t negotiable for 4 months of paid parental leave. Employees can get 3 months and the agency can waive the 1 year employment requirement in a few different scenarios. However, my experience with the federal government is that you should accept the job, then say you want to request an exception to policy or waiver.
