It's like someone crossed Brideshead Revisited with The Talented Mister Ripley, but with amazing cinematography and bad writing and acting that is okay at best. And then added a bunch of gratuitous gross sex stuff. It's kind of like, "Look how avant gard we are showing full frontal nudity!" But it is really just super tedious and boring and gross.

I think that they inferred that Oliver spiked the bottle with a party drug, that way the coroner would have judged it as an accidental overdose and not murder by poisoning. The police wouldn’t really suspect anything different since it was at a big party of mainly college kids.
That’s why the elder Cattons cut off Farleigh after they found out that he had drugs, they probably though that he and Felix where using together at the party.
