Subject: Better to make B's and C's than A's?
Environmental factors. It comes down to this.
You don’t have to be brilliant, you just have to show up and put in the work to that focus. Some kids commit hard to it and some kids just can’t commit in HS. Distractions, obligations, household, health and other factors contribute to an A, B, C, D student.
There’s no reason a C or D student in HS can’t ever be a successful person while an A student can equally fall from greatness. It’s all possible.

Subject: Better to make B's and C's than A's?
I recently saw my college transcript from 20+ years ago. I got a 3.38 GPA. I went to a top 20 college after being a mostly A student (rigorous course load) in HS and I floundered in college, got a few Cs and a lot of Bs and still got a 3.38. I feel like you have to not even go to class to get below a 3.0. So a frat boy who barely goes to class and then is somehow a business god 10 years later isnt because he's a forward thinker, but because his daddy is well connected and he's been handed internships and other experiences and was "allowed" to goof off in college because of his golden upbringing, because he knew he would get a job with his family connections.
