I doubt the kids would know the price unless your dd told them since the bag has no noticable logos on it and I dont think matc jacobs is a brand kids are fawning over compared to yeezeys or Jordan's.

Ive bought my dd"s purses or bags around the same price as the one you posted for Christmas and nobody has noticed. Heck one has a pandora braclet with charms worth over $1000 and nobody cares.

It's always been like this even before social media. Girls in my middle school were walking around with the mini Prada backpacks in the 90s and they were more expensive than this! Not saying I agree with it, but I don't think it's new either.

My daughter, age 23 also has that snapshot bag. But she saved up for it and bought the real one on Zappos. Unrelated comment is I don’t like it, the leather feels like plastic. It’s highly finished so I guess it’s durable, but I always appreciate a more supple leather. I guess that’s why it’s so easy to knock off.

The only counterfeit bags they sell are the ones with huge Logos, huge brand name written across it, LV is the worst with its initials Logo covering the whole bag. That’s what people want. They want name brands plastered all over their body.

Reading this I’m so happy my kids are not into name brands bc holy $$$. But then again neither am I or their dad. I buy good quality stuff when I visit home (it’s cheaper, fits better) but I could give two sh7ts about brands. Based on some of the responses-I think the importance placed on brands is as much of a peer influence thing as a parent influence thing? Maybe that’s why some people are like “what? Wtf no.” And then you have others like oh yes, totally reasonable request. Also-I think schools now have kids who are not trying to fit it/wear brand name clothes. I think some of you have some unresolved trauma from the 80s/90s. The preppy kids with the brand name stuff are not sitting in a corner making fun of the “uncool” kids.

There aren’t any huge labels on the bag. It’s the style and quality that makes it worth the price.

Nikes, Lululemon, Uggs and other brands that teens want have logos. Lululemon doesn’t produce anything unique or any better quality than other brands yet people buy it for their kids.

Most of these teens aren’t into fashion and wouldn’t know Marc Jacobs from Alexander Wang.

Take her to that Kate spade outlet in a few years and let her pick a bag under $100. That what i did for DD graduation. $300 is too much at 13.

Plus, an Xbox or PS is a bad example. There's no real cheaper alternative.
