I disagree. There maybe be an immune suppression issue or they just might find it difficult at their age to clean.

Unless he’s twisting OP’s mom’s arm to make it a shoeless house, it’s okay to have changes when you marry. Part of successful se one marriages is compromise and change.

My mom's hsband's reaction to us texting HER was to send a nasty, cursing text to my brother telling him not to come.

So, now, none of us are going. They can enjo their day in their socks all by themselves. The other 16 people will be at mu house.

What impact do you expect that to have on your mom? What do you expect your relationship with her will be going forward? She is cooking a meal and your have invited her guest list for a meal without telling her?

+1. I'm going to my inlaws and I'm bringing a Turkey Roulade I made this morning along with roasted brussels. MY BIL is brining cranberry sauce and pie. Pretty much only need mashed potates and stuffing at that point.

OP, I am still cooking so can't wade through every response, but what are you hoping to accomplish by deliberately instigating conflict on a holiday where you are kindly being hosted to a family meal? Do you hate your mom and want to humiliate her? Need endless attention from the extended family and negative will do? Do you have a PDA diagnosis or do your kids?
