I was up and down Rockville Pile this morning and it was dead as a doornail. Best buy only had a handful of people.

People have died in the mayhem to buy stuff that most of us don't need or want. I have gone to Friday sales in the past but it's unlikely I would do it again.

I went to Target on Black Friday last year, around 3pm, because I needed a few everyday things and it just didn’t register in my head that it was BF. It was a normal afternoon at Target. Maybe the door busters are still worth it, but I’ve been shopping the sales for a week already.

Took the kids today only because they wanted to see it to believe it. We window shopped, just bought food at the food court, and left. I've worked it too many times but the kids were curious.

Where I live, I tried to go once, but it all started about 8 pm on Thursday and it was impossible to find parking. People looked ugly and low class at that mall, too. We turned around and went home.
Nowadays Black Friday starts in the morning, s it’s become zero fun. I don’t go anymore.


You need to understand that exoticism is not appropriate. In your context, you shouldn't have included that the group of men were "middle eastern looking". It's not your fault that you haven't been exposed to much in your life, including a diverse representation of humanity, but you really shouldn't share that fact, all excited, as if you were describing a visit to the zoo.

This one doesn't need to work, and enjoys the banter. But I disdain Black Friday, personally. I need a quiet day of rest after Thanksgiving. I may browse some things online - my kids need clothes and shoes.

I used to love Black Friday shopping with a passion, but now it just seems like a hassle rather than fun.

I look around my house and think we can’t possibly need any more stuff.

These days I’m into minimalism vs consumerism. I’m trying to declutter and get rid of decades of stuff inherited from parents and in-laws, as well as kids’ outgrown toys.

Maybe I’ll go to a movie that day, but no shopping for me.
