I don’t know Tim’s website address

I know for a fact that these two hand-picked Beaty. They were making calls around to see who they could get to run that would not disrupt their status quo and hopefully would not run again. Bill Campbell was on that list, considered agreeing—but they’d already moved forward with Beaty. It was absolutely their priority to have a candidate who would not question the school board or superintendent. They are very unhappy Baum is running.
I have people trying to sell Baum to me. "Yes, she loves Wilson and is awful on so many things but she's slightly better than Beaty."
My only response is "how did Amy Jackson work out for you?". Heard all the same arguments for her. The fact is ... this election doesn't matter.
Yes, I agree the election will have limited overall impact because it will only potentially change one seat on the Board out of nine.
But, I disagree with you using support of Wilson as a proxy for whether a candidate may offer at least some change to the school board.
While I do believe the Alexandria “establishment” looks poorly on criticism of ACPS, I think there are folks out there who generally support Wilson / status quo but are still fed up with ACPS. Baum clearly is willing to highlight ACPS issues and the School Board power holders don’t want here on the Board. I think that is a significant point in Baum’s favor.

I don't think so. Reif and Green have pretty radical agendas. Reif in particular has some strange quotes out there. I was pro Tim until they endorsed because the teachers really need a voice. No one is standing up for them.
Now I'll just stay home.
So if you look at Greene’s Facebook endorsement of Beaty, Gaskins has “liked” the endorsement.
I find it so frustrating that the political establishment has rallied around the candidate opposed to a candidate who speaks openly about ACPS myriad deficiencies without any discussion of the candidates’ positions on relevant issues.
