Unbelievable story overall. My ex-husband, a rapist, is actually from Farmington Hills, Michigan. That's where these cult leaders used to live. Got pretty damn triggered because I may have been getting abused in Farmington Hills around the time Fake Jesus and his toadies were doing all this abuse.

I actually listened to that podcast when it first came out and it's way better than the docuseries. I admit I kinda stalked the members' socials after listening to the podcast last year but maybe it's a good thing because I saw Victoria Bonilla's Facebook posts before she set her FB to private.

Victoria wrote about how Keely was throwing a tantrum on TikTok about how the Wondery podcast focused on Angie's and Victoria's perspective, and she said that Keely abused her so much that she was puking and praying for God to kill her. And she said that what came out in the podcast was like 1% of what Keely really did. At least to Victoria.

I didn't buy Keely's fake tears in the docuseries after reading those FB posts. Sounds like she may have also read what Victoria wrote and decided to cover her bases.

Now I want to know what these social media posts said. Just finished watching this and haven't listened to the wondery podcast - looked it up and apparently you have to pay for it, so I'm not that curious just yet. Anyone know where to find the podcast episodes for free? Drop a link here.

frankly, a lot of them came off as kinda narcissistic - the Sara girl who was paired up as sisters/special friends with Stephanie, Elle, those two sisters Marly and Keely, etc. It's kind of easy to see why they'd look at the cult leader's narcissism and see it as something to aspire to. I felt bad for Angie though, she seems like this really broke her. And I felt terrible for the parents.

Unbelievable that all these people bought into a guy who looks like a pencil with manic eyes. His wife looks dull, like she has absolutely nothing going on in her head. She's probably in survival mode because if the cult leader is abusing the followers this much, he must be doing the same to his "twin flame" at home.

Yeah, this is fair. I thought it was weird in the documentary that the director and narrative was so sympathetic to Keely, because none of her victims wanted to reconcile with her except Angie. Her own sister is completely disturbed by her.

That's one thing that didn't make sense to me in the documentary. Okay so Psycho Jeff was encouraging Elle to date her ex and confront him over his cold behavior...and then she goes to a club and he's there and she's in jail? I feel like that story wasn't told properly because it didn't make sense.
