My kids' ES principal was flat out fired five years ago. Parents and teachers were very vocal about it (and 20% of the staff leaving in one year made it clear the principal was doing a really bad job).

She got the boot from her principal position. It was for “making one parent mad” as the PP would have you think.

Interesting that VA Run's principal is still there. Many complaints from many parents.

No she isn't. Her last day was yesterday!

Wow well I hope for good things for that school now that she is gone.

Did she retire or does she now have a position in Gatehouse?

Time will tell. No one has said anything about where she's going next. I think everyone is just glad she's not there anymore.

Liz Bumbrey retired. It was announced. There was a retirement reception on October 30. You can see it posted in their News You Choose on the school website. Clearly you are not in the loop and are just here to complain from afar. Go you!

Ok, Liz. Enjoy retirement!

Good riddance.
Usually principals are liked by teachers but disliked by families, or vice versa. Its a rare bird who is disliked by all.

Seriously....VRun lost a lot of solid teachers because of her.

No one can. Read the Navy thread. He’s still employed in the county. And the two ladies who just had an arrest found on background check and are now “special projects.”

Where?

Anonymous wrote:Could someone please actually post who the new FCPS coordinator of library services is? Can it be true that this person is not actually an experienced and licensed school librarian?!!!! If so, what an appalling step down from Priscille Dando, who may have been the most capable and extraordinarily talented person in instructional services overall.

Jeff deleted my other post.

So no. You cannot have transparency.

Thanks FCPS.

Anonymous wrote:Which successful principals chose to leave FCPS? Did the majority go to over districts, or what happened to them? It would be interesting to see where they landed, and to understand why they left. It doesn’t seem like a big challenge if the district wanted to have real data about what caused them to go.

FCPS gives an extra pension that neighboring districts don’t. Principals who have reached eligibility for that pension are “retiring” from FCPS, collecting retirement funds, and then working for neighboring districts and earning full salaries.

Many have departed for other NoVA districts that give more support to their principals. Some have better benefits and are just less stressful in general. A lot of the secondary admin in Manassas City are former FCPS admin. Others have gone to Prince William and Loudon.
