Side story: rented an airbnb with a few other couples about a year ago. First night we were all chilling in the hot tub. One of the men - about the same age as Perry - went from enjoying the tub, to sitting in the edge saying he was getting overheated, to fainting and falling face-first into the middle of the tub, totally unconscious - in just a few minutes. He'd had 2-3 beers but was not pass-out drunk. It took 4 other adults to haul him out of the water. Thankfully one of the friends on this trip is an EMT, and knew how to respond - got him revived pretty quickly. He went to his doctor right afterward and got a relatively clean bill of health - says it was just a combination of dehydration (airline flight in the day before), altitude (destination was a mountain resort), marginal cardiac health, a bit of alcohol, and the heat from the hot tub pushed him over the edge. It wouldn't have been a major event if he'd passed out on land ... but passing out into the water could have been deadly if others weren't there to haul him out before he drowned.
Scary! Thanks for sharing, though, because it's important to know about.
Do you know what the emt did to revive him?

He was my favorite character on Friends, and I loved seeing him again on The West Wing, and Studio 60.
Gone too soon!

Can't be in a pool of water if you are drunk or sleepy.
Hot water will make you more sleepy. I never understand why people sit in a hot tub drinking alcohol.
