Limiting? All resorts have 911 access so I do just fine. But in all seriousness, I have a child who had a medical emergency unexpectedly. Had we not had 911, we could have lost her.

Yeah, I'm sure it's much more exciting to have a child die while you're on vacation.

Otherwise I don’t get the problem, do you know his many single parents raise two kids?

Make it a fun adventure. Walk in the woods (much safer than a city).

Why can’t your husband push back and say, no or reimburse us for the deposit we will lose?

OP call the host today and ask if you can reschedule to another weekend. Explain the situation. They may be willing to work with you guys.


I can't understand if I am following these post correctly, but I think if you're military and this was a military related cancellation - it's worth a shot.


We don't weaponize that.


You do you, but some people want to support military. I don't think it is weaponizing to ask.

I would see if I could find another adult to go. Do you have any friends who are SAHMs? Could you squeeze a mom and kids in?

What about grandparents?

I'll say also that while objectively, I think it's perfectly safe, if you, subjectively, DON'T feel safe, and will feel worried and anxious while you are there, it's not worth it.
