Something like that happened to me when I was ordering for my husband, using his credit card and they got all crazy on me when I called to find out why the order had been cancelled.

This is a really normal way to shop these days! All those insta personalities also show their big hauls and then report they ended up keeping 1 item out of like 20. I think it's not usually about returns but about fraud on a credit card.

Sephora will do that to you too if you report a lost package. The first time. They don’t give any allowance for actual errors or thefts. You report a package missing; they refund you your money; and you can never order online from them again.


If this happened to 2 out of 50
Orders that’s a lot of revenue lost. Some people actually lie about this stuff and commit fraud. Not you but companies don’t have to deal with this.

It’s definitely people like you causing the problems. If a site has shoddy clothing don’t shop there. I usually only buy brands I know so I know how they size their clothes. If a teen needs a dress sites like Shopbop have huge inventories and they are made for specific brands like Staud or ALC. No surprises.

Yes. I was banned from Nordstrom Rack. I used to buy and return often. Evidently they sent an email warning me that I didn’t see. Tried to purchase and couldn’t. It’s not a bad thing. I’ve moved and could probably buy again but don’t need to really.

well, that's clear. Girls buying multiple slip dresses from Homecoming would send up a red flag!


So stores don't want to keep inventory in stock and push online ordering but they also don't want people to order multiple sizes and return.


They should just do no returns on cheap dresses on sites like Homecoming. I never return anything online. Way too lazy. Plus I usually buy sale items. Not worth it

I order from anthro and Free People a lot and they are really fast with shipping. There might have been a security breach with cards related to yours ? I’d want to know why.

Anyone with any sense operates as if their data is "not secured" anywhere.

I had a credit card leak from orders placed online in nov 2023. Could never figure the source. Today I received an email from my bank for a declined payment on the American Eagle Outfiter online store with my old cancelled credit card number. So avoid this company as your data is most likely not secured.

I had this with eBay last week. Was it a large purchase? I bought something for $1200 they told me that was the reason as I didn’t have a history of making large eBay purchases. They eBay declined every card and I needed to talk to a supervisor.

That happened to my husband and it had something to do with his Target credit card - I want to say he had ordered something, it was out of stock but they shipped it weeks later, but in that time he had been issued a new Target card with a different card security code. They tried to charge his old card, it didn’t work, and it tripped all 9 million of their anti-fraud things. He was able to contact them and eventually someone was able to unblock his account but it took a few phone calls. I could always order with my credit card (non-Target). It was weird.
