It's redundant. Chai is Indian tea - chai literally means tea. Just call it Tea Tea or Chai Chai - it's no different than saying Chai Tea.

+1

Its like calling tea chai, its the same thing.

I am South Asian and calling it "chai tea" makes perfect sense to me. The drink is loosely modeled on how Indian people drink tea (cinnamon, cardamom etc ). Americans don't drink their tea this way. "Chai tea" is tea prepared how American people perceive that Indian people drink their tea. It's basically shorthand for "spiced tea" or "the way we imagine Indian tea must taste like" tea.

The real tragedy is that real Indian chai is so much more delicious and most American people will never get to experience it.

But to be all snobby about "Chai means tea!" is dumb.

And OP to answer your question, try a London Fog.

You can add 1 pump of full sugar syrup to a latte with almond milk (21 calories a pump, 5g of sugar) and still be much, much better nutritionally than a latte with dairy milk, no syrup.

I have come to like 1 pump, even in a venti. You can taste it, but it’s not sticky sweet.

I’m sure sugar free is better on calorie/ carbs. But not a fan of artificial sweeteners. For taste or nutrition.

Here are some Starbucks hacks. A lot of them point out colder beverages are better, which isn’t as helpful in the fall. But still good to keep in mind.

For a once a week treat, almond milk, fewer pumps, no whip isn’t perfect, but it’s much, much better than a standard latte. I do think if you start by switching to almond milk and no whip, and then once you’ve adjusted, start cutting down the pumps, you can change your drink order significantly and still really enjoy it. Once you are used to almond milk, then go for one fewer pump for a few times, then 2 fewer— until you hit one pump. I guarantee that at that point if you go back to the original recipe, you will find it undrinkably sweet.

I also like hot tea with almond milk and a pinch of real sugar when it’s cold out.

Not too burst anyone's bubble, but both the almond milk and the coconut milk used by Starbucks have added sugar in them.

is the almond milk 60cal per 8 oz? some sugar no protein, soy has some protein but more sugar

So i was in a starbucks free zone this week and had to go to dunkin--got a small double oatmilk latte and was pleasantly surprised,,hit the spot and just 90 calories...the coffee was less bitter

Oh please. Adding a splash of creamer and couple splendas or a pump of sugar free syrup isn't going to ruin your diet.
