I disagree that Maria is innocent here.

She not only stood by him, but she campaigned for him, fighting back over 10 allegations that he had groped women's breasts, put his hand under their skirts to grope their buttocks, tried to undress an unwilling woman in an elevator etc. Some of the allegations were from the 1990s and even 2000s.

I don't buy that she believed that these women were lying. She was standing by her man/ monster until he brought his sickness into their house. She was okay loving him when she knew he was attacking other women

Maria was very Catholic. Very big believer in marriage. It was a great disappointment for her. She tried and felt tremendous guilt for having “failed”. But, can you blame her? Family is a big deal and she didn’t want a broken home.
