I’d be happy with a modern farmhouse. At least it has a home office and a garage.

again, barn doors are one thing, gray floors another. White House with black windows is yet another, separate trend. honestly I don’t even think there was that many gray floors in gaines’ designs. and while barn doors etc, and grey floors are out of style, black-white trend is still alive. this is why people see all these white houses around. they don’t necessarily have gray floors and barn doors inside (sometimes they do but often because it’s cheaper, on sale as a part of dying trend, not because it’s a design choice).

Is it still on trend?

Is it here to stay?

What is the next trend?

God!, I hope it's going out of style! So damned boring.

It screams "pandemic era"

Buy it, raze it, rebuild.

I'm wondering if the painted brick is still going to be a "thing". The "cottage" house a PP showed is all white brick (except for the chimney for some reason). Will natural brick every come back?

Already is:

Looks like suburban fire station house

I'll add that it's obviously not new, but has aged really well for being a 2004 build.

Modern townhouse, and the black and white friend, is going to scream “pandemic era” trend.

It’s gonna look dated soon. Opt for contemporary beiges, if you must use white, use Green as a shutter complement.

Yup.

Pick a fresher trendy look or perhaps a traditional look?

Haha. I live in Arlington and do see a lot more "modern" style houses going in. Not sure I like those much either, but it seems be a trend.
