I was in HS in the 1990s and don't recall this. It wouldn't be allowed as we had a dress code.

Same. Im sure they have athletic pants they could scrounge that are equally comfortable. Thought I don’t love those being worn to school either, I’ll take it over pj pants. I also see (middle/high school) kids going to school in slippers and with full size blankets.
