I think 70 I'd a great grandma age. That's when my parents became grandparents, and by then they were done with travelling the world, esoteric hobbies, and the whole retirement rumspringa so they had time to watch my kids for me

I am a parent who went to a kids activity today and saw somebody who looked like a pregnant grandmother she was so old. I will never understand that.

My parents were grandparents in their early 50s. My mom is a great involved grandma, my very rigid dad cannot handle being around more than 1 little kid at a time. He eventually blows up and scares them. So whatever. Generalizations about age are just that - generalizations.

Also, keep in mind, pretty much 99% of those on DCUM cannot possibly know what it's like to be a young grandparent because the demographic here doesn't skew that way, mostly. So to them you and I are obviously wrong since they are so right about everything. Who cares?

You would be very wrong in our case. In our case, both the grandparents and the parents all have masters degrees. Including all of the spouses.
