That’s us! Why does it blow your mind? We love everything about it. We stay at a luxury hotel (club level) and have a blast at the parks. It’s our happy place. We’ve taken other vacations with the kids but they don’t have nearly as much fun as they do at Disney. They’re 14 & 16 now and we’ve been going routinely for about the last 12 years.

Do you use the concierge service to bypass the lines? How does Disney club level compare to a four seasons?
Genuinely curious. We spent close to 15k for 4 days last year and I thought it was a waste of money.

Four Seasons is much better than any Disney club level. FS is an actual luxury resort with great dining and FS service.

Four Seasons is building a hotel at WDW. What will you do then?!

As it happens, we do Disney, Europe, Hawaii, etc. We have the money for it, so it’s not a big deal.

Actually the FS WDW is open now. https://www.fourseasons.com/orlando/?utm_source=ggl&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=other-orl-prop-cv-brd_disney_disneyonly-na&utm_content=na-na&utm_term=na&gad=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9hWRsturPOJxs35wlIMAqF0IR_n&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpc-oBhCGARIsAH6ote8P4uqUNg7XISAEwA9_Ry3r7B7RWLQLPPafyXObF2eW48fIQpCAoIQaAh2HEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

It’s been open for 10 years

They already have a hotel there. That’s what I was talking about. We just stayed there—we have the money for that and Europe and a ride in the Bezos space rocket and a sub trip to the Titanic. Do you have a point?

We stayed at a rental townhouse outside of Disney. We went to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and MK. It felt like we were having way more fun than the people with little kids. We did some rides together, let the kids go on some on their own while we chilled and had a drink, skipped the lines by using the single rider lines, and then went back to our house, hit the community pool, and enjoyed our patio. It was a great trip.

Agree much easier when the kids are older and you don't need to micromanage everything. That said I'm glad that we won't need to go back my kids have been twice. That's enough. I want to do other things with my time and money.

I haven’t been to the parks in 10 years. My DD turned 1 this year and we were considering a trip. All I’ve heard from others though is how overpriced it is and the Disney magic is gone and the park is dirty. I guess we’ll wait until she’s older and hopefully Disney has cleaned up their act.

They have Disney in Europe.

Night and day a better experience.

Experience of what? My kids like the rides. Not many of those on a cruise.

OK, you and your kids have fun spending a huge amount of money for the privilege of standing in the hot sun for an hour and 1/2 staring at the back of some stranger's head for the 2 minute ride.

Well, we can afford it so it's our choice and doesn't mean we can't do other things. I'll take that over the privilege of getting Legionnaires Disease or norovirus from being crammed on a boat with hordes of people, nowhere to hide.

Universal is so nasty. Disney is much better.

I disagree. If I never go to Disney again, it will be too soon. I love Universal. Both are a total rip-off but Universal is a bit easier to manage. And the rides are not 50 years old and terrible.

I feel like universal has zero good shows and only a few good rides. Hagrid’s, gringotts, the new dinosaur one and maybe hulk if you like the really scary ones. And hagrids is the only really great ride. Disney has a lot of new rides that are really great.

But in general I think it’s great that people have different preferences. I blame social media for the idea that you “have” to do disney (or anyplace else). People should make different choices. No one has to do anything except pay taxes and die. Maybe if all the people who hate disney stopped going, the lines would be shorter! So my advice is — if you think you”ll hate disney, don’t go! Consider it your gift to people that enjoy disney. Same thing with Yellowstone, Paris, beach rentals, etc.

Our inlaws have been asking us to go ever since our we started having kids. We plan to go ONCE - next year when the kids are 4, 7, and 9. Then it can be checked off our bucket list ;P So we'll spend a bunch of money for all the extras since we only intend to do it once.
When I was a teen and young adult, my grandparents were in a retirement community nearby, so we'd spend a day at a park when we visited them, and it was more lowkey. We also used to drive down with our marching band I think those lowkey days are gone now.

Same here. Kids are in their 20s. We took them to many US National Parks and back to our home countries. Their favorite trip was South Dakota. OK, we did go to Legoland, but that sounds more manageable.

(No, it's not our only vacation. Other common vacations are Europe every other year, California wine country every year, etc.)

I hate that guy felt the need to add the last part. Who cares if Universal was your only vacation?!?
