Did anyone from PTAC speak at the meeting on this? Any public statement from PTAC and the PTAs?
PTAC actually advocating for students? That would be a first.
Ha! True and their website is covered in photos of the current past president (and her husband). It's weird.

Anonymous wrote:There seems to be an unwillingness of admin to issue consequences these days. They would rather punish the whole student body by turning the school into a prison rather than simply punish the students who are the bad actors. Students selling weed in the bathroom? Suspend them/. Report them to law enforcement. Students having sex in the bathroom? Same thing. Suspend them. They do some dumb shit they need to suffer the consequences. Instead what you have is students who can’t go to the bathroom because admin have decided to lock all the bathrooms and even if they can go, they don’t feel safe because of all the shit going on in there.

What's wrong with having specified windows of time for bathroom visits?
Heck, visit an older Chinese hotel and guests have specified windows of time for hot water availability so people only bathe during those times.

The PTAs and PTAC must be organizing people. Because if they can't organize parents on the basic issue of children being able to go to the bathroom at school...why do they exist and why are parents funding them?
I haven't seen any press or quotes from school board members but surely the school board members have spoken out?

Bathrooms are locked and students are only allowed to access them at certain times. Teens are told that if they have a problem with this then they should wear depends. Depends instead of being able to relive themselves in a restroom! Anyone know a WaPo education reporter to investigate this? Absolutely is outrageous!
Instead of building more than one highschool including an alternative school to manage students humanely the superintendent has turned the one highschool into an actual jail.
