My guess is the Hollywood left has known about this behavior for years and turned a blind eye as long as he was profitable and part of left wing politics. The minute he became popular with the right, all of a sudden the accusations had to come out.
I 100% believe the women, but also believe many in the industry protected him for years.

But it’s possible the Left is getting nervous about the proliferation of formerly Left/liberal leaning people questioning the party and decided he needed to be taken down. I think politics prompts takedowns like this.
