They still court you. In the US the dating scene is much more transactional.

It’s not common. When I visited my company offices in London or Paris the men were impeccably dressed and elegant, their American counterparts wear expensive yet baggy suits. On average, there really is no comparison.

OK I said previously that I universally prefer American men, but European and Asian men do have one thing over them- they dress better! My dh is probably a 9 or a 10 in looks, muscled, doesn't drink or smoke, good salary, perfect husband and dad, does half the chores, but he HATES to dress up. He actually just wants me to buy his clothes for events and he'll wear them. Most of the time he prefers jeans and a polo shirt or in fall/winter a button down shirt. He doesn't look like a slob at all, but he doesn't aspire to dress like James Bond. Luckily for me, his outfits were why he wasn't snapped up quicker by another woman. He was still wearing white socks with suits and running shoes with dress pants when I met him.
