op, when you get a chance, can you let us know what you learned about demons and demon possession from the posters on this thread?

Also, have you done any independent research about demons? And the concept of “demon possession?”

I don’t have any advice for you and my opinion on these things is based on my religion, my life experiences, and my
personal feelings about these things.

I don’t think anything I think about these things would be relevant or useful for you because it’s something we all must make our own mind up about.

We know the supernatural world isn’t subject to man made rules, as well as not subject to the laws and rules that exist in the natural world that surrounds us.

We can’t build a containment unit and wear it on our backs like Ghostbusters, and suck demons into our special backpacks and show everyone they exist. We understand that.

You haven’t had my education and experiences, nor have I had yours.

I would not listen to your abusive, negligent, and selfish parents and the other toxic and dangerous people who frankly sound extremely uneducated and lacking in even rudimentary knowledge about people, religion, and the qualities decent human beings possess.

There are tons of youtube videos by educated people on this topic on both sides, if you want to learn more from either side of the coin. Youtube videos are free.

In the future, protect yourself first, always. Don’t listen to someone’s words- watch their actions.

And if someone is so entrenched in their opinion about any subject that they refuse to
listen to another person express their own opinion, or declare that their opinion and their opinion only is correct, they are not someone to give brain space and credibility to in your quest for understanding and expansion of your own beliefs.

It’s completely normal to form an opinion and hold that opinion. It’s completely normal to defend that opinion and in your heart of hearts, believe your opinion is right.

What isn’t normal is thinking everyone else on earth has the same opinion as you do.

Declaring something that is unknowable or subjective as known to you is not only wrong, but rude and disrespectful to other people.

When someone declares their opinion is the “correct” opinion- they are actually doing you a favor. You are being given the gift of not having to spend time listening to this person, and figuring out if their opinion contains anything valuable for you.

Intelligent people, whatever their level of education, are respectful of other people and their opinions, even if they disagree and hold the extreme opposite opinion.

I really don’t see anything here but a few anonymous opinions, has that done a lot for you on the subject of demons and demon possession?

Well if there is true goodness there's true evil. Whether a that's demons and possessions I can't say. But I'm sure of good and evil existing. Just as good can be over reaching and defying of logic - if you've ever met someone who was just clearly supernatural, there's the other side of that. Personally I do believe in possession but I can't prove it. But I can't prove anything based on my faith. The short answer is nobody knows bye it's what you believe to be true.

I do see a psychiatrist and I just recently started therapy. My therapist is good. He went to an Ivy League and has degrees in theology and psychology.

I’m going to ask him about demon possession this week, but I’m afraid he won’t like me anymore.

My previous therapist was allowed to share things with the pastor because he made me sign a release - it was a condition of therapy; I could only do therapy with him if I agreed to let him share with the pastor. The pastor then shared with many others.

I really like my current therapist, but I’m not comfortable with him yet. My psychiatrist, who has known me for 4 years, specifically recommended him.

Oh, and I never cut my radial artery, so I never bled out. I just cut enough to bleed some. I used to cut all up and down my arm. I hate myself for not being good enough to love, and cutting seems an appropriate way to punish myself. Anyway, I never cut deep enough to bleed out.

I'm happy you're seeing a real psychiatrist and a real therapist. It's fine for you to believe in God, and believe in demons, OP. You can believe in anything you want as long as you get proper care for yourself. The mental illness that is cutting and self-harm is not curable. It's manageable. So there will be times when you struggle more than others. Call it your personal cross to bear, if you will. We all struggle with something, believers and non-believers.
