A lot of DC’s shootings involve people from PG. So they are coming here to get wild, then they go back home. That trend has existed for a long time, but it has turbocharged again with the rise in crime.

Not PP but this has been a rumor for a long time. I don’t know if there’s data to back it up, though if you look at the arrest info on MPD’s website, anyone who isn’t from DC is from PG.

Let's not be romantic. I believe in the police, but there are some really bad actors out there and they are allowed to continue to torture people without consequences.
You are brainwashed. The idea that police are "torturing" people is delusional. If that were happening, there would be rampant civil lawsuits against police officers, and that's just not happening. Unfortunately, however, it is the case that criminals who have miles-long rap sheets can be aggressive and dangerous when police finally catch them, and the police are justified in using appropriate force when they are threatened.
It's just too bad that people continue to misdirect their energy toward vilifying the police when the real tragedy is that black people are killing other black people, including lots of black kids -- and no one is marching in the streets about that. The real "torture" is that lots of law-abiding black citizens are forced to live in neighborhoods that aren't safe for them because criminals can commit crimes without fear of any real consequences.

Most of these murderers are in their teens and twenties. It takes a lot of effort to rack up eleven felonies in such a short time. Every single one of them should have been in prison. And their victims - the vast majority of whom are black men - should still be alive.
This has been an utter failure by the City Council, the DA, the AG, and progressive judges. They are turning our city into a dangerous, dystopian nightmare where no one ever feels safe from carjacking, assault, robbery, and gun violence. The police don't even bother responding to the vast majority of crimes anymore knowing that the criminals will be released immediately.
In the end though, the responsibility for the violence in DC lies with the voters of DC. This is what they voted for. A good percentage of professionals, the middle class, and young families are now abandoning the city. Combined with empty offices and a dead downtown, the future is not looking bright for DC.
No one is abandoning the city. People no longer want to work in an office. DC is the same as every other city. Criminals don't even get before a judge, let alone a "progressive judge". The AG doesn't prosecute crimes here. The federal government is responsible for prosecutions and they literally are not charging people. That's crazy! Now, the mayor is responsible for not having an accredited crime lab. We should definitely hold her accountable for that.
