I know most of them now have DEI directors but which ones walk the walk and which ones are just doing it for show?
GDS, Maret, Sidwell, Lowell, Norwood, Sheridan seem to be known for diversity beyond instagram and web site. I hear NCS is also pretty diverse too.
Define diversity.

You are wrong.

Which privates have large numbers of students on food stamps? There are catholic schools who try to serve poor communities, but I can't think of any independents that go beyond token representation

Milton Hershey School

So far we've got a school in LA and a school in central PA. Shockingly, no big3

Find me the ones that enroll the kids of top politicians alongside special needs, vocational students, and kids living in poverty who will likely drop out a couple years into puberty (drop out of school, not drop out of puberty)

Get your point, but you clearly haven't been to a small town public school. At mine, there were scores of white folk, a handful of other races and 3 Jews. No special needs (other than physically handicapped). Left after elementary, so not sure about vocational.

+100 This.

As a parent of color, we have been happy with the diversity at Maret. It could be our child’s particular grade level, but it’s pretty ethnically/racially diverse. Not economically.

Why no neurodiversity?

+1000. It’s extraordinary.

Why is that a bad thing? Can’t people socialize with whomever they want?

Of course. Just don’t be a hypocrite. Unless you think being a hypocrite is ok.

who are you calling hypocrites - progressive parents who insist on a diverse schools, but then allow their DS/DD to choose who to socialize with?

People who say they want a diverse school but send their kids to schools that are not diverse and then crow about the “diversity.”

I don't follow you at all. as far as I know, in the DMV there is no such thing as a "school that is not diverse." And if there were such a school, I am sure the sort of parents who crow about diversity would not go near such a school. what school are you referring to? and what exactly is the profile of someone who is a hypocrite in all of this?

Define diverse.

Upper middle class and upper class kids of every color and sexual orientation with a couple of token poor kids and absolutely no neurodiversity

Exactly. I'd much rather well manicured grounds than poor kids
