In Spain, we had to sleep because a crazy lady kept kicking the seats all night and making a lot of noise. The hotel was able to let us in at 9 am. So grateful!

In London, I think we rested a bit mostly because we had plans to be out late that night. A few hours of rest doesn’t hurt me in adjusting to the time difference.

I highly recommend the timeshifter app to help you adjust (spoiler alert: the app will likely tell you to not nap when you arrive). It gives you advice about exposure to light and when to sleep before your trip as well as the first couple days. I found it really helped. I had a 6pm flight to Europe and took melatonin and wore an eye mask -- both helped a lot.

It’s only a 6-hour plane ride to Iceland, so we’ll get very little sleep. DH and I are used to taking weekend naps, so I think we’ll go with that strategy.

If you're taking Iceland Air, you won't sleep anyway. The planes are 737 single aisles and the seats are like sitting on plywood.
Good to know!
