There but for the grace of god go I. I don't think the Millers are good people or particularly good parents, but this type of incident happens to good parents and thinking it couldn't happen to you is just what puts more kids at risk. Kids can disappear in seconds and drown very quickly. The casual nature about which people are discussing and relishing the karma that these two have endured via the DEATH OF A TODDLER is making my stomach turn.

How is a child having a seizure the parent’s fault? I agree with you they aren’t good people, but this isn’t a good example.
They had a perfectly healthy daughter who died because she was unsupervised at a pool party and drowned. If she had a seizure while being resuscitated is not the point.
If they had paid for a babysitter that day or simply watched their kid, she would be alive.
It wasn’t even a pool party. It was a visit to a family - a playdate. How hard os it to watch your toddler??

I vaguely remembered a post years ago about the drowning, but didn’t read that entire thread. This one made me read McKenna’s story. Holy crap! He wanted nothing to do with her or baby until Morgan had two miscarriages. He ignored McKenna’s communications. She went on with her life and son. Judge allowed Bode to literally rip her newborn from her arms. McKenna had to stalk their social media for months just to see him. The pain she described seeing Morgan holding “Nate.” They changed his name?!
Do not know how she did it. I would have been full vigilante. Yet, she learned the laws, hired an attorney, and persevered. What woman in her right mind would lay claim to a child that wasn’t hers? The judge essentially permitted kidnapping. Was the judge removed? Do they have 50/50 custody? It should be supervised visitation, they’re deplorable people. I may be missing some info. Sorry for the rant. Now I’m thinking about the poor toddler from Afghanistan. Unbelievable injustice.
You left out the part where the sleezeball intentionally sent the papers to the wrong address so McKenna never knew what was going to hit her. He got custody just because she wasn't able to respond. Disgusting.

The custody thing is indefensible for sure, and they have a lot of kids that run kind of wild, but I for one have never heard of carbon monoxide poisoning occurring outside and appreciated getting a PSA of sorts on this even if some of you think it was for attention seeking.

The number of children we have doesn’t change because of death. You do in fact get to count those that are not living.
Be sensitive.
She’s not the mother of Neesyn or Sam, the 2 oldest kids. Morgan is a mother of 6. The first 2 kids have living mothers.

Who is the 14 yr old mom. And why is Sam called Nate in the article? At his mom’s is he Sam and at his dad’s Nate? Does he see his dad after the custody case?
Read the articles. McKenna named her son Sam. Bode tried to steal him away after initially telling her to get an abortion. When that failed he and Morgan insisted on calling him Nate after Bode’s dead brother.

Nope sorry. Their toddler left the house at the playdate to get to the pool. #1 rule is if there’s a pool one parent has to keep eyes on the non swimmer to make sure they are in the house at all times.
To follow up with this, we stayed at a house with a pool when we had a baby and a 3 year old non swimmer. My husband and I discussed how one of us had to have eyes on our 3 year old at all times. That was non negotiable. The baby was non mobile and in a rocker most of the time. It was not a relaxing vacation at all and I’m sure everyone thought we were nuts for shadowing our 3 year old but they were safe as a result.

Their whole spiel about teaching families about water safety and the dangers of drowning is so cringe. It has nothing to do with water safety and everything to do with not watching your child around water carefully. The pool should have had some kind of fencing or a locked gate. That is just one layer of safety. The most important thing is having eyes on your 1 year old at all times. If you can’t do that you don’t go. When my kids were that age I shadowed them constantly. That stage was so hard but you have to to keep them safe.
