DP.
Joggers. Only joggers.
I actually make my boys wear jeans once a week. Just so they remain familiar with the feel of clothing that's not joggers.
Like, to school? Ours has a strict dress code (I'm the polo and jeans poster), so this is bizarre to me. Like, they actually wear joggers in public? I need to pay more attention in the grocery store, I guess.
If your kids are going to a private school with a strict dress code, your observations on what MS boys wear may not be mainstream.
Sure, but...kids really wear joggers to SCHOOL?
What’s wrong with joggers? I wear mine everywhere.
+1 from a middle age mom. I love my joggers.
I wonder if pp was mistaking joggers for leggings or something? Joggers are pretty widely viewed as normal and appropriate casual wear for school so I assume pp may just not know what they are
I did not mistake them for leggings. I know they're a kind of sweatpants. I'm just surprised they're allowed at any school. Not expecting everyone to wear dress pants, but what happened to jeans?
Your surprise has lasted for pages and yet you still remain surprised. Drive by any public school sometime. You'll get over it. It's okay. Change isn't always bad.

Maybe it’s regional? I don’t see any of my 12y.o. son’s friends or notice other kids at camps or classes in joggers anymore. It’s jeans, chino-type pants, cargo pants, and non-sport shorts unless actively engaged in sports.
Does your boy hang with a more needy crowd? My son is obsessed with sports and none of his friends would be caught dead in chino pants. That’s what his dad wears to work.
Not dad pants![]()
Loose, rolled up chinos with T-shirt and Converse.
Not nerdy. They’re all skaters, into music, and are also on team sports. But they’re not at all obsessed with sports or video games like some cousins and kids we know at this age and in high school; they’re more into skateboards, music, and playing their guitars.

Where are you posting from, 1953?
That is pretty much all middle school boys wear, or athletic shorts. Or PJ pants with crocs. And hoodies. That is all they wear.
Next you will be expressing shock that they aren't all getting regular crew
Cuts?

Anonymous wrote:Where are you shopping for middle school boys these days? I have a tall skinny kid who likes cargo shorts and plain t-shirts. He is happy if he has the same shirt in every color offered. He hates shopping and so do I. We had been shopping at Kohl’s, but their online offerings were pretty limited in his size yesterday.
