This. The health dept and animal control always say to get the shots but it’s overkill. You would know if you were. bitten. And even if bitten it doesn’t mean the bay was rabid. It just accidentally got in your house.

The common recommendation is if anyone was asleep in the room with a bat to get the shots. You wo'nt see a scratch or bite.
Yes, rabies protocols is advised when a bat has been in a room when asleep.

Not OP but have you not heard of high deductible insurance? Not everyone has a Cadillac employer sponsored health care plan.
The real question is why don’t we have universal healthcare like every other “civilized” country?
