LMAO at the absolute HORROR of a travel practice looking like a lowly peasant-y rec practice due to (gasp) a lack of matching practice jerseys.

If you are paying 3k a year for travel and your practice looks like a rec team practice, you have bigger problems than cutesy matching outfits.

The point of sponsers used to be to cover the cost of the uniforms so they would be free. This is all ridiculous greed.

Wow…what was the rationale for this? Were kids alrdy wearing slides and they thought they should match bc it’s unslightly?

The director’s wife likely designed and takes a cut. When something is out of the norm (mandatory slides) someone is on the take. Isn’t that illegal - charging for something even if you don’t receive a good or service - under UCC?

McLean has this. Nothing says girls soccer like Freddy and sons on your shorts.

Hold up, you have to have club branded slides?!?!

That is correct.

Actually, it's MARS non-profit company. Get over having the uniforms with companies sponsorship. It happens for most soccer companies even professional ones.

What are you talking about? It's MARS the parent company for brands like M&M, Snickers, Uncle Bens and a bunch of other food and pet brands. Go ahead to the MYS website and click on the MARS logo toward the bottom of the home page.

My point wasn't about corporate logos on jerseys (though I do hate them). My point was the hideousness and plainness and lack of identity of the MARS logo. So in your ignorance, you actually kind of proved my point.

Why does MARS sponsor the "wealthy"/profitable soccer clubs like Potomac and McLean and not some of the smaller ones in our region? (Don't get me started on Amazon)

Because the rich kids have connected parents who can secure sponsorships.

Is the logo 8 inches tall across the chest area? Horrible.

Ours only requires a bundle that includes 2 game kits and a practice kit. Backpack, warmups, etc are optional. I bought regular adidas warmup pants and jackets and iron on numbers when my kid outgrew his original set. And when my younger kid joined, his number was 39, so I added a number 3 in front of my older son’s 9 and reused his warmups.

Yes it’s their foundation. Please do research before responding. You must be new to soccer to not understand that most jerseys have sponsors.
