I am loving “The Turning” about the nuns who left Mother Teresa’s order. I listened with an uncomfortable and at times horrified facial expression. It’s fascinating in its own right, and also has me unraveling some of the beliefs I had growing up in the 80s/90s as a Catholic, and the zeitgeist worshipful impression of Mother Theresa. I had been looking for a podcast that would help me think critically about my Catholic upbringing (I’m no longer Catholic, my mom left the church due to its treatment of women), and I found that here.
Excited to check out the other suggestions, thanks again!
DP. I recently browsed this thread looking for recommendations and have been binge listening to The Turning, S1, about Mother Theresa and the Missionaries of Charity.
Thank you so much for this rec! So interesting and riveting. Highly recommend if you enjoy a good story behind the scenes of one of the most admired person and organization in the 20th century.
