Worked with a Scott Peterson. Of course he couldn't see that coming but how unfortunate. I've also worked with a Bruce Willis and a Steven Tyler![]()

I don’t want to say what the name is in case they are on this forum. It is such a hideous name, it’s also an English adjective/comparative word, think like Softer or Louder.
When they first posted the birth announcement I thought they had a typo. The kid is still a baby so it’s tbd on future ramifications. But people are too focused on picking a name that is original, like who cares if you meet someone else in life with the same name?

Axel
What?!? Your name is A$$hole?? (this was shouted)
I jumped up to intervene. There were other parents coming in -- then I apologized to Axel's mom who said:
Oh that's OK -- my mom said people would think his name is A$$hole.
OK then....
This is my son's name and never ever in 12 years has he had this problem.
You also need to parent better.
Regardless. Axel is a Scandinavian/Germanic name that doesn’t sound at all like the word the PP was referring to. Honestly…

Has having an awkward / ill-fitting / uncool name, or any kind of name that someone in showbiz would feel compelled to change, harmed your child in detectable ways?

My kid’s name messed up the teacher’s lessons about the sound each child’s name started with. 🙄
What name starts with a silent W? I am so curious.
