No, no, no. Please don’t do that. Think back to when you were in college. And the conversation you had with your friends. Now imagine your mother was there every time and you could develop no relationship in private without her knowing every thought. It is a terrible idea to look at your kids text past middle school.

I'm 41 and I am still on my parents' phone plan but they do not check my texts! I am married with 3 kids - but my husband has his phone through work so I just never left my parents' plan and they even added my 14 year old to their plan too. It's basically my bday gift from them every year.
This is so strange to be on your parents’ plan as a grown married person and to have your kid too.
What difference does it make? I don't care if they see who I am talking to. I don't talk to anyone interesting.
P.S. it started because I was talking to them the most so it was free that way.

I recommend flipping the direction of that, to help them as they age and experience cognitive decline.
