Some kids would prefer not to go to school, bathe, go to the doctor/dentist, or move out when the time comes.
Be a parent. Not everything is about preference.
I matters that a kid go to school. It matters that they go to doctor/dentist.
Why does it matter what they call you?
My kids call me Mom and I would feel weird if they didn't and probably discourage it. But at the same time, I can't think of a good reason why it matters.
There is a difference between giving into every preference, and picking your battles and being thoughtful as a parent about whether invoking that parental authority is worth it in a given instance.
