They have the teeniest heel. Once you break them in they mold to your feet. Very comfy.

To the people posting stuff like keens …. Are you being serious? Do you think these go with everything? Like you would wear these to brunch with friends, shopping, summer party in a friends backyard?

I would like to know as well! These keep getting posted on sandal threads and I have very little fashion sense and these are hideous.

For a fancier outing, I have Mephisto sandals with Swarovski crystals on the bands. But I prefer my Keens.

I have wide feet and they don't look good in strappy cute sandals, so I just wear the most comfortable sandals in black I can find.

Is this post real? I’ve only seen 4 year olds wear these. They are more of a summer sneaker than a sandal.

This. I’m in my 40s. I’m thrilled that supportive sneakers and Birkenstocks are “in” enough for me to be a little bit fashionable while packing practical shoes for a European vacation. I can’t believe the dumb shoes I used to wear all the time for the sake of looking cute. Embrace the orthopedics! Buy a cute sundress or a great bag instead. And remember: your shoes will not be visible in 99% of photos taken of you.

While I agree that birks are fashionable in the right circumstances, I’d be willing to hazard a guess that the people posting them on THIS forum are not wearing them in a fashionable way. The other posts were keens and similar hiking shoes. I think the people posting the birks were offering them in a similar way as the keens.

Maybe, maybe not. The people freaking out about Birkenstocks and applauding some of these other options are weirdly unaware of how on trend Birkenstocks are. I’m not arguing in favor of those ugly Keens (though to be fair, the person who posted them wasn’t arguing they were fashionable either), but even Tevas and other sports sandals are on trend right now, a continuation of the broader athleisure/norm core trends. Along with comfortable white sneakers, as a PP noted.

I know a lot of very fashionable people, including people who work in fashion, and most of them are wearing sneakers, Birkenstocks, sports sandals right now. Sometimes mules or a huarache sandal. The delicate sandals with 2-3 inch heels people are posting in here? Those are for occasional events, not every day. No one is picking their kids up in heels right now. Maybe a low wedge, but it will look fussy next to everyone else’s Vejas and Birks.

Lots of options from Fit Flop leather sandals. Super comfy.

also my lord i think it's so funny that those late 90s/early 2000s shoes are back in fashion. they didn't look good on me then and they wouldn't now, but i appreciate that they are overall more practical than what's been in style for the ensuing two decades.

Just spent a week in Paris, and many many many Parisian women were wearing sneakers—mostly of the sort of chunky white variety—and looking very stylish. A lot of chunky-heeled boots, as well, that looked as comfortable as heels get. This idea that European women don’t care about comfort or wouldn’t be caught dead in sneakers is not current.
