Are these totally flat or do they have a slight wedge?
Anonymous wrote:What's funny about this thread is that the people criticizing Birks and Tevas are actually the unfashionable ones, and the people posting studded cage mules (wtf?) and gladiator sandals are horribly out of step.
Also, hate to break this to you, but if you have great legs and a nice tan, Birkenstocks look cute, and if you have pasty thunder thighs, those Valentions won't save you.

No.
To the people posting stuff like keens …. Are you being serious? Do you think these go with everything? Like you would wear these to brunch with friends, shopping, summer party in a friends backyard?

When it gets cold, I'll wear them with some merino wool socks.

For a fancier outing, I have Mephisto sandals with Swarovski crystals on the bands. But I prefer my Keens.
I have wide feet and they don't look good in strappy cute sandals, so I just wear the most comfortable sandals in black I can find.
Is this post real? I’ve only seen 4 year olds wear these. They are more of a summer sneaker than a sandal.

I went on a year long sabbatical in Europe and walked miles and miles in wedges and cute block heels that were the range in 2000.
No sneakers (unless actually running) and no ugly looking orthopedic looking sandals.
Your feet get used to it.
You were 23 years younger then. Usually when you get older, you get less willing to fIIk up your feet and back like that.

While I agree that birks are fashionable in the right circumstances, I’d be willing to hazard a guess that the people posting them on THIS forum are not wearing them in a fashionable way. The other posts were keens and similar hiking shoes. I think the people posting the birks were offering them in a similar way as the keens.

These are the only nice ones I've seen in this thread so far.
They’re pretty if you don’t ever have to actually walk much.
